Main, Pewy, Boomy and I had a few good games last night, but then Main decided it would be a good idea to activate the cheats and the game fell into complete disripute. >_>

It became beautiful.

I think you loved it when I was swooping around in noclip really.

I was probably more scared of you zipping around then I was of anything actually attacking me.

Need Main to find that low gravity command, Counter Strike was always better that way -_-

According to Gabe Newell who was speaking at DICE yesterday the recent half-price sale of L$D saw a sales increase of 3000%!

He also revealed that every time the release free content for TF2 that game also experiences a sales spike.

See activating cheats shouldn't make folks use and abuse them. I still want a game without fog, and with everyone agreeing to turn off the music, in order to make life that much more scary.

What would completely bomb that is for folks to then start to use the cheats.

So, who is in for some cheat-enabled-to-sort-the-fog-but-nothing-else L4D goodness? And remembers the commands (as I would have checked PW for them...)

I'll join you for that. Last time I turned the cheats on we managed to do the first 2 maps for Death Toll without fog until people realised that they could use them too and started spawning tanks and no clipping everywhere.

FFS people, just because you can do it doesn't mean you should.

Its funny though! Putting 4 tanks in the safe room at the start and seeing what happens after that had me in stiches.

But yes - no fog games would be a great idea. The screens you posted mantis in the old pw looked bloody erie. Eery? Eeery? Scary ¬_¬

Also I dont understand why people like having the music on in the first place - its awfull. you can predict a special zombies precence by the sound they make alone - you dont need a brass band playing behind you aswell.

When hearing it come though peoples microphones as we're playing, I cant help but >_<

I've been trying to play the game without music on but have found that it doesn't really improve things. It doesn't add any sense of tension at all and more often than not you'll just be sat in total silence watching a tank run around at your feet. When tank music plays you really shit yourself, when you just hear a roar off in the distance and then there's silence until gunfire erupts it's just boring.

See that to me feels more shit your pants scary than any musical accompaniment would ever do. The whole thing feels alot more atmospheric, dark and dingy and feels far less orchestrated if you see what I mean.

Sorta more natrul, as Ricky Gervais would say.

Remember Deus Ex when a fight broke out? The music would change tempo to signify this. It’s an unneeded mechanic I feel. Its something from cinemas that works out because everything is obviously worked out ahead of time.

When anything can happen (and often does) in games of this type, it jars in your eardrum.
